The restaurant was incredibly busy, but I didn’t care because being busy meant lots of business, lots of tables and lots of tips.  My co-worker on the other hand was on the second day of her first home-remedy colon cleansing.  She was on a steady diet of water, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper all mixed together in her half-gallon water bottle.  I thought it looked like speckled urine but chose not to tell her this for obvious reasons.

The night progressed and she became more exhausted.  She denied being hungry, and kept telling everyone that she was fine.  Fasting for a day is doable (although very unhealthy), especially to a small girl, but fasting for 3 days straight and drinking this nasty lemon water to me seems unbearable.

She explained that it is great for your colon and some of her friends have dropped 10-15 pounds by the colon cleanse home remedy.

I was thoroughly skeptical, as I always am.  What type of weight are they losing? Is it fat or is it water? Or could it even be muscle?  I don’t see lemon water and cayenne pepper as a healthy way to lose weight or as a healthy way to cleanse your colon.

There are other ways to cleanse your colon that are healthy and beneficial to your body.  My remedy of choice is used long term and calls for an increase of fiber and also fruits and vegetables.
